P.Perichi Gounder Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust (PPG Trust) Coimbatore, was established in the year 1992 by Dr.L.P.Thangavelu, a leading surgeon of Coimbatore City. The Trust with an ambition to provide teacher training to the youth of Tamil Nadu established PPG College of Education in the year 2005. The Post Graduate degree course in Education -M.Ed. was started in the year 2006. Since then the college has been producing hundreds of teachers as nation builders. Today it has evolved as one of the prestigious colleges of education in Tamil Nadu. The college is recognized by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO THE B.ED PROGRAMME
The candidates should have undergone 10+2+3(15) or 11+1+3(15) pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education / Examination and UG Degree Examination of the UGC recognized Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary/ Higher Secondary Education level.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAMME
A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the programme leading to the Degree of Master of Education provided he/she has passed a Bachelor Degree Examination in Education of this University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks in theory and practical components separately.
